NAYEN Conference Code of Conduct

The NAYEN Conference Organizers ask all attendees to keep the Rotary Four-Way Test, the Rotarian Code of Conduct and the NAYEN Conference Code of Conduct in mind as they interact with each other online and throughout the conference. All communication, be it verbal or electronic, must be carried out in a respectful and polite manner. Inappropriate messaging or contact will not be tolerated.

The Four-Way Test

  • Is it the TRUTH?
  • Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  • Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  • Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

Rotarian Code of Conduct

As a Rotarian, I will:

  1. Act with integrity and high ethical standards in my personal and professional life
  2. Deal fairly with others and treat them and their occupations with respect
  3. Use my professional skills through Rotary to mentor young people, help those with special needs, and improve people’s quality of life in my community and in the world
  4. Avoid behavior that reflects adversely on Rotary or other Rotarians
  5. Help maintain a harassment-free environment in Rotary meetings, events, and activities; report any suspected harassment; and help ensure non-retaliation to those individuals that report harassment

Conference Code of Conduct

NAYEN is committed to providing a safe, productive, and welcoming environment for all meeting participants, sponsors, and volunteers. NAYEN is dedicated to a harassment-free conference experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion (or lack thereof), or technology choices. We do not tolerate harassment of conference participants in any form. Sexual language and imagery is not appropriate for any conference venue, including talks, workshops, parties, Twitter, Whova, Zoom and other online media. Conference participants violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled from the conference without a refund at the discretion of the conference organizers.

Official sessions during the conference will be moderated in zoom or in person depending on conference type. All public conversations in the Whova app are subject to moderation. Private or participant organized sessions should be appropriately moderated by the participant-organizers. Speakers are expected to respect the choices of the moderator in selecting questions or comments, managing session times, etc.

Participants are required to respect the privacy of other participants and refrain from any unauthorized or unwelcomed recording or photography. Please do not take photos of other participants in zoom to post to social media. Participants should not copy or take screenshots of Q and A or any chat room activity that takes place in the virtual space (Whova or Zoom). Participants should not share conference session login information or Whova app login information, including the join code, with anyone who is not registered for the conference.

If you experience harassment or hear of any incidents of unacceptable behavior, NAYEN Conference Committee asks that you inform the Conference Chair, Kimberly Armitage at confchair@nayen.org, or the Vice Conference Chair, Shannon Brunston at confvicechair1@nayen.org, so that we can take the appropriate action.
